Flight looks at pilot contracting

A hard look at Ryanair and Norwegian, and a glance at where EZY is on the scale: http://www.flightglobal.com/fg-club/...ot-recruiting/

That's good read, and ought to be shown to everyone beginning commercial training, and those who are giving or lending them the money.

A well written article to show to those who are in positions of power but who do not understand what is going on in our industry. What I thought was missing though was an educated guess of where things are headed. Governments around europe are slowly understanding that they are loosing out on money and are slowly but surely catching up. Will it be allowed to continue or will it be regulated in some form?

However, the airline concedes: "Under new [EU] rules introduced in June 2012, new Ryanair recruits will pay their social taxes in the country where they start and end their working day, and accordingly will no longer pay their social taxes in Ireland.
Imagine the time and effort it will take the poor contractor to sort that out with potentially 20 different states every year! That would be a full-time job in itself!

yeah but you could have a "normal" start & end point - that seems to work for some countries

Is it so terribly hard to look instead of asking others?
