GB Airways Pay Rise

GB Airways have just given a pay rise to their pilots of 4.25%. This has been negotiated between BALPA and the management. It is made up of 1% cost of living rise and 3.25% from the 'tracker agreement' which looks at a number of other equivalent airlines. The baseline calculation is taken as a first year Captain and everyone else is calculated from there. A first year Captain now earns just over £60,000pa excluding allowances and benefits. A first year FO (with previous commercial experience) now gets £37,600pa plus allowances and benefits.

In a sea of bad news this is all good stuff. Added to that, they have also recently recruited some type-rated 737 and Airbus drivers. You cannot please all the people all the time, but this has pleased most within the company.
