Once Again Korean Air Disappoints

Word has it that Korean Air has imposed new work rules. Three pilots up to 12 1/2 hours flight time. Trips such as ICN-SIN turnarounds mostly backside of the clock with three pilots(5-6 hours one way with 1-2 hours ground time and then return. The Korean Air ex-military pilots agreed to the work rules for an unknown pay raise. The Korean Air union(non-military pilots) turned down the invitation and the expats can like it or leave(they will do most of this flying and will not get a pay raise). You wouldn't catch me flying as a passenger on one of their airplanes. Take the incompetence of the Korean pilots, add fatigue, and then a dose of a situation that requires them to think outside of the box and you have their next accident. Gentlemen/Ladies they are flying in the same airspace.

NOT ONLY Korean is using augmented crew for the night flights up to 15-16 hours.
It's a worldwide tendency and it is not possible to refuse..... only worldwide strike could help... probably.

Angry

$$$$££££ rule the world!!! Regulators do not seem to understand the reason for FTLs; do not realise the effect of fatigue! Companies are allowed to get away with this.

I believe this is criminal. The accidents are waiting to happen (have in fact been occuring here & there)! What will it take for something to be done to rectify this global trend? A massive loss of Life? Only if some (regulators) wheels go to jail! That's not going to happen.

It's the way of the world now - lack of moral courage!!!

KAL PIC JOBS

OK So I gather KAL is not the place to end up with at the end of ones career. Was oversea before on a OK contract with EVA Air but that kind of contract is not available lately. Is KAL a place to consider? Why do they interview and hire pilots and continue to hire. Is there a high turn over of expat's or is there a sinister force at work here like union busting, or local intervention to reduce the expat work force and replace with local pilots.

Is CX or Singapore, Vietnam or Asiana the place to go? Or is China in country A320/330 the place to be?

Need help deciding?
