They are advertising for B 767 Captains with a base pay rate of $ 7000 USD a month. Please tell me pilots are not actually accepting positions at such a pathetic salary.......

I was just informed would not get interview. I am a retired delta 767 captain age 62. I assume it was because I was no longer current my last flight was within the last 6 mo. I liked the commuting aspect and the days off compared to most of the other contracts.

jamoore - For a company like Ethiopian Airlines to feel they have the luxury of turning away a retired Delta 767 captain means they must have an incredible standard of applicant. I am aware that a number of African countries have an upper age limit for operating as a captain of 60, which may explain this.

Doesn't surprise me to be honest . Im an experienced 75captain, also done the sum and conversion on the 763. No interest in interviewing me.

However they accepted my mate who had done neither.

Only know one guy out there and he's flat out, 110 hrs a month.

Ethiopian need competent experienced pilots. But they insist on keeping locals. Safety is not Ethiopian's priority.

Ethiopian now recruiting 777 Captains.......

$9500 per month, PLUS $60 per day per diems!!! WOAH!!

Oh... and during training they don't pay this salary but a very generous $1800 per month!!!

I'm sure they'll be inundated with highly experienced 777 qualified guys
