Ella,

Don't forget that your company is probably paying a pension, social insurance, Loss of Life and Licence, thirteenth month, vacation pay. I am Quite certain that your company is spending more on you each month than what you get as a so called Contractor, which in reality is just false selfemployment so the airline can avoid paying taxes and social security etc. Totally illegal in Europe by the way amd we pilots are again victoms of this greed by the schareholding capitalist pigs.

Mr Fade, may I politely suggest you email Rishworth or NAS and discover the position, or is that a problem? I can't see why it would be to my advantage to " Troll" as you put it! Best of luck with the job hunt anyway.

Sorry, maybe wrong choice of words, but the info I have indicates this is wrong and the source is above reproach.

Norwegian (long haul) will have no problem filling these 787 posts, with 777 pilots from legacy airlines like KLM who fancy doing something different before they retire.

Great for them, they have a big pension from their old airline and the 787 job will just be pocket money for the last few years. Same kind of thing used to happen ten years ago with some of the old fully paid up final salary pension BA guys going to easyjet or doing contracts abroad before they retired.

So this deal is great for people who already have a great pension and are about to retire, it might be OK for very new guys but it will be not so good for all the people in between.

Norwegian can get away with it because the older guys from other airlines can afford to work for so little.

For an FO commuting from the UK and paying tax/NI in the UK, take home looked like £3,500 PCM (1.20 euro to £, £1,100 tax and £370 NI from 6,000 Euro). Pension, LOL, medical, etc. to be deducted. Payment for working days off could bump it up.

They offer days off in Europe (EOL) and unlimited free ID90 from OSL to home base? How much will you see of Thailand as the airline grows to 8 or even 20 airframes who knows. Bangkok is just one destination and Oslo will be one of maybe two or three European hubs. I would be more concerned about getting caught for tax in Olso as this is where, as a commuter, you will probably start and finish your duties and where the airline is really based. Bangkok on paper seems just for tax ev for the airline. If the Bangkok route didn't work out, where would you be based then? Others working there could tell us more.
