Capt's get 14000AED a month and FO's get 12000AED, It's enough at the moment to get a nice place. However, it depends on you circumstances!! You have to allow for your bills and your 5% municipality tax. The company will give you upto 6 months allowance in advance, that is once you have passed your final line check.
Emirates will give you an apartment//villa, again depends on your circumstances, they will also look after your bills upto a certain amount, not sure what it is. You won't have to pay the municipality tax either!!
