Post WOW!! All this over a small Q on EK?

WOW! - You disappear for a few days and the moaners & theorists break loose!

Just briefly: The Don & Witberg: Thanks for your note and thanks for your comments. Are you sure of your 'facts'? Unfortunate to say, but EGGW is correct.

Thank you DirectCF & Jaydubya, for answering the original post. Resolved some questions. I wish you all the best. Hope you have better luck than I had.

It's a design standard, I don't know the exact defining criteria but I suspect over 5700kg MTOW. Should be on one of the EASA documents somewhere, good luck trying to find it!

If you're waiting on a DEC position then don't hold your breath. Ain't gonna happen anytime soon. Historically DEC failure rate at selection is around 80%. Be careful what you wish for!

Because of poor performance by DEC's is the reason LCT was introduced. The ones that BS'd their way in ( knew the right people ) failed their first recurrent which was after the probation period. Do some spot checking after 3 months and you can get rid of them ( which did happen ). Could be some of the nay sayers on this forum
DEC is always a possiblity but don't think its in the cards for a while.

DEC's

fatbus, anyone can manage to BS his way around any interview (F/O or DEC), especially if he/she is a sweet talker and has the 'right' answer to any question. As you rightly wrote, what he is really worth is then shown online.

Whether DEC's will be recruited depends on the laws of supply and demand. At the moment EK seems to be finding the numbers by lowering the requirements. However, will the numbers be available in the near future?

Emirates Interview

Anybody have any idea that the interview sessions that will be held in UK would cover most of what they cover in dubai except the sim check. Any idea on what are the numbers that they are looking at and what the interview process is like!

Lovejoy,

Presumably your talking about the 'pre selection' snapshot form?? If so, then that came with the confirmation email. So if you received and sent the form then you already have the confirmation of the date on that email.

Guys,

I am getting quite a few PMs asking for advice re the EK interview/SIM process 935 to date), based on my 1st post to this thread. To clarify, I copied and pasted a previous post from PRT2010, so it was not I that had just been hired and was offering advice, it was PRT2010. Although I am only too keen to help, its been over a decade since I jumped through those hoops, so I would think info would be more up to date if you were to contact him, or some other new joiner.
Good luck fellas,

The Don

So has anyone been to the pre-selection day at the end of May in London? If so, can you share any feedback?
Cheers...

Has anyone heard back from them yet after last week? My status changed from 'under review' to 'shortlisted' a couple of days ago, but nothing else

Ignore the above....just got the call

So as you were there, can you tell us a bit about it?
