it gave you a an answer and you had to create the equation using the numbers given (between 1-9 ) each number can only be used once for example the easiest might have been:

_ x _- _=47 so answer 8 x 7 - 9 =47

Obviously as the test went on it increased in difficulty and weren't allowed to use calculator.

I have to admit that I found this maths test easier to do. Although there was one question that totally threw me off guard.

The Tunnel was the same as the easyJet one.

The Spatial awareness made my brain turn to water.

Verbal reasoning is pretty much exactly the same. 40 questions, timed and numerous tabs to read from. And impossible to complete unless you've got the brain of a computer...

I've just finished the assessments. I found them more difficult than the easyJet ones. I'm through to the next stage with easy but would not be confident of getting through here.

I've spoken to a number of people who think it'll be a good idea to apply with false info/made up name initially and then video record themselves doing the assessments with a view to then applying with their correct details later on and being well prepared for the assessments.

I've heard that it's quite likely to get a new test, on site, if you're invited to Dublin.

why is maths so important, I have seen other assessment tests and they have all kinds of math tests like algebra geometry etc. Math is not my strongest area, as it's been a while since I left school !

I want to know how much maths is required in the actual job, do we need to make complex calculation any example would be helpful.

is it just me feeling like I am extremely inadequate?
You too???!?

This has to beg the question, what has this actually got to do with flying an aircraft? And what happened to the friendly chat to find out who the good eggs are?

I miss those days...

Received it too. I'm guessing a lack of coordination between Aer Lingus HR and their test partner.

"I want to know how much maths is required in the actual job" you wrote, to be able to apply for this job you should have your ATPL's done at least and have CPL / ME IR, so you should know what kind of maths is required in the job already.
If I knew about it, then I wouldn't have to ask in the first place !

Due to a lack of coordination, can I take the tests again??

Like a few others, feeling a bit useless about all these aptitude tests at the moment.

Just done them... time is most def your enemy! eg- went to click an answer as the test shutdown... grrr!

Was ok but due to the time, i'm not holding out much hope of making it through this automated filter

I wonder how the pass point is defined - an overall score or min required passes in each test?

There is a synch issue with AL and their online assessment provider. The provider is sending out the tests before AL send out their 'Welcome to the tests email. I got my "Here are your Tests email" 3 days ago and the "You're tests will be with you soon email" today.

I wouldn't worry if you've completed the tests and just got this. I'm impressed though! I haven't had time to complete the tests and am steeling myself for a quiet and sober 90 mins away from the anklebiters to apply myself to them!

Hopefully they'll just rank all us morons and draw a line where they need it. If they set a pass mark I'd be surprised if get many through...
