X centric

Well done. That's one of the most low-brow, immature posts I've seen on PPRUNE.

Also, I'm guessing you tried to join the military but failed.

Haa haa...X-centric, get a grip. Paranoia and an overly defensive attitude is also bad for CRM!!

My command of English is level 6. Not Wordsworth or Keats. My post didn't imply that a multitude of 744 operators were filling your inbox with requests. It relates specifically to Virgin. Good for you if they are asking you to re-apply. People looking towards a position in VS or who are considering joining VS found your verbal slams distasteful. By the sounds of it you either fly or have applied to fly the 744 for BA. They obviously can do no wrong in your book.

Anyone got a semi-accurate figure of how many 744 guys at Virgin have resigned to join BA?

TBE.

This is the first time I've logged on for a year; I had to go through the password retrieval process. I've just checked my stats on PPrune: Two previous posts; both regarding interview questions at Qatar, for some reason. My membership is from 2006, but I know I had previously been a member from when I first got on-line sometime in the last millennium. I am at Virgin and just did a little search because I wanted to find out something fairly specific. This is what I came up with.

Note to self: In twelve months time when my aging memory forgets what rubbish is typed on this site do not, under any circumstances, try to retrieve that password.

Ta ta.

Finally had a reply here...

The Recruiting Manager has screened your application and we are writing to advise you that unfortunately, your application has not reached the next stage of the recruitment process.

Anyone hear otherwise?

And me. 737 rated, 6300TT, 4000 P1. Was even invited for an interview by them in 2007 which I couldn't attend at the time. They stopped recruiting soon after that, been waiting for a call ever since!

Well, at least you guys/gals get a PFO mail......and you have enough hours with a decent type in order to apply in the first place. Try the lower echelons of the biz-jet world - takes 5 years to accrue approx. 1200 hrs and so much positioning you feel like a nomad. When you do manage to find a job to apply for, invariably after interviews your lucky to hear anything unless your successful - at least Virgin reply - not much consolation i know but it could be much, much worse.

Me too. I had thought that my application was a bit of a joke, as i've only 2000hrs as FO on B737's. However the comment above regarding a maximum of only 400 hrs need apply, perhaps wasn't a joke, what with some seriously experienced guys on here also getting a PFO.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're now not recruiting at all. But they won't have the balls to say so publicly.

The airline, in my time there, seemed to have little, to no ideas at all - excepting the knee jerk cutting of staff that it is so well known for.

All that glitters is not necessarily Gold. This could be a !!!! covered in cheap glitter, but of course, I couldn't possibly say for certain. But it did, and still does, smell rather like that to me.

LOL at above.

But what you all have in common is that you don't have a 747 rating. What i'm intrigued at is why you want to apply to Virgin anyway having those ratings. There are plenty other opportunities and with good companies. Especially those with A320 ratings, you could put you finger on any country in the world and chances are they're looking for Airbus guys!

I have a 747-400 rating and wanted to join Virgin. Didn't apply, didn't have the hours. Im thinking maybe I should have anyway….
