how many pilots do Ryanair employ

does anyone know how many Ryanair pilots there are altogether and how many people are cabin crew

i cant find a figure anywhere

all i can base it on is an avg. of 5.5 pilots per 737 800

so 5.5 by 227 = 1248

Er, yep 5 - 5.5 per aircraft is about the norm so that would be more like 2500, there are two up the front last time I looked.
CC ? well 4 down the back but it seems they work harder, so 4000 ?
Just a guess, but don't think it will be far off.

maybe between 4 - 8 with the average of 5.5

Id like to know if anyone has an approx. figure on the amount of pilots working for ryanair

You can't really work it out that way.

Employed by Ryan proberly getting on for less than half of the crews flying Ryan airframes all the rest are self employed contractors.

5.5 (or whatever) Capt's & 5.2 (or whatever) F/O's... (normally a little less F/O's employed than captains...)

i found all the info i was looking for

36 employees per aircraft (20 cabin crew 16 pilots)

1852 pilots (1041 contracted)
3808 cabin crew

762 hrs per year for pilots
64 / month average

all as of 31 march 2009

Interesting to look at the hours figure, its more than I am averaging but from my own knowledge asking guys, seems captains average 800-850 and F/O's 600-750 so that would put the average about right in previous post, I am currently looking at 665 hours averaged over my first two years on line.

Cant belive it took a few attempts to get the number of pilots X2! lol,, some guys might think there up there alone but there really are two of us

Give it a rest mate, you are giving me a headache.

1852 pilots / 16 pilots per airframe = 116 aircraft.

Even back in Mar 09 they had a LOT more than that.

No way they have 16 pilots (just to clarify for you that is Capt's & F/O's as there must be 1 of each at the front for each departure ) for each aircraft, I would say max 10 or 11.

If you divide 1852 by 10 (feel free to use a calculator ) you will arrive at "about" 185 aircraft, which was probably about right in early 2009.

Now there are 210/227 , depending on the version you believe, like I said, about 2200 - 2500 pilots, give or take. From the 1 yr old figure you quote (3808) it looks like my guess of 4000 "lovely" (well the few in the calendar at least ) CC isn't too far out either, but really, does anyone care ? ? & if so, why for chrissakes ? ?

BTW if you are still having difficulty with the concept of 5.5 x 2 x 227 I think you have some work to do before the 18th March

Employees per Aircraft at Period End . . .36 as of 2009

Ryanair’s ratio of flight attendants per aircraft increased from approximately four crews per aircraft (or 16 flight attendants per aircraft) in the 2007 fiscal year to approximately five crews per aircraft (or 20 flight attendants per aircraft) by the end of the 2009 fiscal year.

obviously 36 employees - 20 cabin crew = 16 left maybe some of them or counted as engineers etc... I didnt do the maths, so your quite right 16 pilots per aircraft is way to much so 10 would sound better as you have said

anyway I care and I wanted to know. Now I know.

Airlines calculate numbers of crew. Not numbers of pilots.

In Ryanair on average is 5,5 flight deck crew per A/C. It is going up an down throughout year, but not significantly.

If Ryanair has 225 A/C, simple calculus will provide you with so desired answer.

( Shhhh! number of A/C multiple by 5.5 then by 2!!!! Or if you have higher level of maths under your belly, then number of A/C multiple by 11!!!!!)

Off that number roughly 40% are Brookfiled pilots.
