227 737 aircraft by an avg of 5.5 pilots per aircraft = 1248

How many pilots does an airline (short/medium haul)need to have hired for each aircraft it has in its fleet?
maybe between 4 - 8 with the average of 5.5
Id like to know if anyone has an approx. figure on the amount of pilots working for ryanair
