Valentin 2000

The joy you are feeling for the possibility for getting someone sacked is somewhat sad. You Latcharter/Smartlynx muppets should be bloody happy to be able to keep your job past Christmas. 16 some million loss this year and about the same last year will not be compensated by the 5 mil profit from 3 years ago.

I dont feel no such joy in anybody getting sacked! But I see that the P Granade fleet chief was responsible for 10 smartlynx pilots to loose their jobs!! Some of them are still out of work. Yes he did stop the 3rd aeroplane from coming so he could stay in santa barbara airline.. I know i watched it unfold from here in riga.

There is a great injustice being performed down there in santa barbara with these pilots working without the correct license! and i feel for the 10 smartlynx pilots and now also for the many many globespan pilots out of work.

and yes what goes around comes around BUT not sooner enough for this granade.

Well done BALPA

BALPA have set up a hardship fund for the Globespan pilots out of work. WELL DONE. It is warming to know that someone has a heart and thinking of those unemployed at this festive time.. Once again well done.

After reading this and the Non Jar/Validation thread I do feel saddened that pilots are still working in an airline without the appropriate qualifications or license. When so many are suffering!!

The Union mantra

For those not informed:

Icelandic unions FIA and FFF (Now amalgamated to the former) have had an axe to grind with pilots working on validations. They more often than not made the assesment that a licence validation was akin to a work permit. This it is not.

Further Smartlynx is part of the Icelandair group as such the pilot union believes that it has right to place it's pilots on a furlough from Loftleidir/Icelandair to the Smartlynx 767's (2 of these) on those contracts and replace all non union employees. This was the game a few yeard back and what I hear the tempo has intensified considerably in the last months.

It seems that PPRuNe has also come a mouthpiece for the named Unions. I believe based on the level of Spanish used that all the gents/ladies that seem to have a big issue with the quarrel about validations are not quite what they seem to be.

Either way I don't really care as this does not affect me in the least. I have a JAA ATPL and hold an EU passport (Though I've held various validations including one from Iceland and Latvia)

Those reading this, just remember before jumping into conclutions:

As these are anonymous forums the origins of the contributions may be opposite to what may be apparent. In fact the press may use it, or the unscrupulous, or sciolists*, to elicit certain reactions

pPRUNE a mouth piece for named unions?! I dont think so! pPrune seems to be a mouth piece for the individual whom wants to air views on certain matters!

Happy New Year to All. Hope next year, 2010, brings employment to all those correctly qualified and rated!

Individuals unions, who cares. The view I want to air is the misrepresentation of JAA validation somehow being akin to work permit.

Should you want this to be so, why don't you guys approach ICAA and EASA with a suggestion that validations used in EU and or Schengen area should only be issued based on individual applican having proper immigration qualifications in their posession?

Oh Paco, Valentin or who ever you want to be called. Thats just all fine and dandy, especially after I had chat with PG after 3 years after leaving Latcharter.
We did not part in good terms and what I said to you in the mail was ALL as I meant it at the time. But I did now have a chat with him later on when your propaganda started to be mildly said tiring and we had a bit of a chat about times gone past and what and where we stand these days.

I also had a chat with other pilots working and those who left Smartlynx since this debate started on the public forum. Funny enough the A320 pilots never had a problem with the 767 group as we had nothing to do with each other. So assuming to be Latvian and so bloody concerned about people flying with validations is somewhat far fetched. But union boys are aren't you?

Just to add some fuel to the fire here: Have a look at the posts of Valentin2000, classic74, paco59 and Rafael767 and what do they have in common? Same tune, utmost outrage of pilots flying on validations. Interesting to say the least.

Be that as it may and judging by your reaction to my previous post, I think I have hit the nail on my assumption on your identity?

Why don't you come out of the anonymity and publish under you own name or names like I do so we can have all the cards on the table, no hidden agendas eh... Y think you can do that?

Anyways I have said what I wanted to say and will steer clear of this thread for now, until it gets interesting again.
