A-319 VIP Captain rates
Greetings..... looking to get an idea on captains pay for a VIP A-319 based in Europe, plus what would be a reasonable per-diem for duty days.
The offer is 8000 Euros plus 75 euros per day 2 weeks on 2 weeks off.

A CL605-skipper will make that (unless you've sold your soul to VistaJet

Try asking in the BizJet section - you'll get a better idea there, but my guess would be around the 115K EUR-mark and not a cent less. You are selling your executive and intercontinental ops experience and the ability to provide outstanding service and customer experience, not your ability to phone RYR or EZY ops when the fit hits the shan and then dish out the lowest common denominator of an experience to your hapless cargo.

My experience of corporate was indeed that the Pax received first class treatment in the cabin while on the other side of the curtain things were well short of 'superior' .

Salaries
Having flown on VVIP 727's and 737's as well as smaller corporate jets, and without getting too much into the decline on T&C since the late -90's. As a FO I made more than as a Captain today. However I would like to offer 3 words:
Supply and demand.

Do have a job at the moment? If not and you have been out of work for a while, you would be an idiot not to take the offer. Get working for them show them what you are worth and if they like you they will probably increase what you are offered over a period of time. If you dont take the job someone else will. You may want to mention to them is this the going rate for that company. If everyone is on a different deal, then the aviation department would be in moral decline and best to look for another job ASAP once you are established.
If you have a job at the moment you are in a better position to negotiate, otherwise you have no bargining power whatsoever.

Look around you, see whats available and what its paying.
Ironically enough, if you were to see $12000 per month plus $100 per day you`d probably think that wasnt bad! Do the math!!

I think it was more you not being allowed to think for yourself than any lack of ability that was being hinted at
And indeed, bizjet outfits are as varied as airlines - some very, very poor, some very, very good, each obviously attracting very different crews with very different standards.
As 747JJ said - it's supply and demand. If you have an exceptional package to sell, it should not go for less than market rate. If you have an average package to sell, you take average money - simple as that.
If the people running this ACJ-show are recruiting for 96K EUR/yr, then they are effectively saying that having the type-rating and hours on type is enough for them. Would be a bit wary of that mentality in such a set-up - but if both supplier and buyer are happy, then obviously the price is right
