The best advice so far on this thread.

Do have a job at the moment? If not and you have been out of work for a while, you would be an idiot not to take the offer. Get working for them show them what you are worth and if they like you they will probably increase what you are offered over a period of time. If you dont take the job someone else will. You may want to mention to them is this the going rate for that company. If everyone is on a different deal, then the aviation department would be in moral decline and best to look for another job ASAP once you are established.

If you have a job at the moment you are in a better position to negotiate, otherwise you have no bargining power whatsoever.
