British Airways Pilots
Anyone know what sort of salary, flight allowances/sector pay, pension etc BA pilots recieve (both FO and Captain)? I take it that wages and pensions will have gone down since the cost-cutting measures have taken effect.
Thanks, BA 77.

All available elsewhere. PPJN I believe, though I don't bother looking myself.
Pensions are never intended to reduce as a result of "cost-cutting measures". Wages may, or may not. The jury's still out!
All we have implemented so far is an increase in productivity.

2.61% pay cut imminent once the rest of the company achieves its cost savings, plus a £2 an hour reduction in 'flying pay' (£11 becomes £9). Fortunately, annual increments (c.5%) remain in place.
Initial salary for a DEP (SH) is currently £48461 (before the pay cut).
Time Away From Base is, I think £2.86 an hour form report to release.

You said initial salary is £48,461 - is that inclusive of pay cut, allowances etc? If not, would someone mind giving an approximation of what the total salary would be in the first year?
Also, would someone mind giving some info on the following?
1) A typical month's schedule as an F/O on short haul
2) A typical month's schedule as an F/O on long haul
3) Pay progression through the career - ie SH F/O, LH/FO, SH Cap., LH Cap.
I realize this will require approximations but would appreciate any info you guys could give.
Thanks in advance!

So a 2.61% pay cut at some point, then a pay rise of 5% at some point during the next one year and then at least 5% every year upto a total of 24 years I'm told, BALPA worth every penny.

There's a great thread on here about BA DEP recruitment, started by Localizer. A quick search will find it. However, recruitment will certainly be a long way off. I've heard 2011 mentioned from several different sources, though I wouldn't be even betting on a date that soon!
