Not bitter are we, by any chance?
A lot of BMED guys saw their chances of command disappear into the unknown. And a few had their command course cancelled and given to BMI.
That's how the cookie crumbles. Time to move on for everyone.
Re BA: Willie W has repeatedly and unashamedly his interest in SLOTS. Nothing else.

Bitternes...?How many commands were there at bmi in the last 8 years? How many 10+ year Fo's are there flying with Bmed commanders with 4 years service? After seeing LH as the great saviour only to have the rug pulled is not pleasant for anyone in the group.
Whatever happens it will disadvantage one group or another (if not all), and I sincerely wish all concerned the very best of luck.

when they joined bmi they kept their DOJ and their Sen, pres been set and it was BALPA that advised that it was the way that it had to be done; they cant say one thing to one airline and something different to the next.
My advice...............dont bank on anything!!!

Asset strip?
Yeah because thats what they did to Swiss isn't it?
bmi management was all about obfuscation. Their accounts don't mean anything. No wonder its taken LH nigh on 3 months now to try and ascertain what the hell has been going on even though they've had members on the board for 10 years.
They'll sort it out and run it with typical German efficiency.
Game, set and match to the Germans.
Except, for the next 10 years no one in the UK will have any disposable income to spend courtesy of a deficit that makes Madoff's look like pocket money.
Last one out of "not so Great Britain", turn out the lights.

Don't forget either that BMI only bought BMed as a cheap way of getting slots, it was about to go bust.

Weell....you could also bring up the guys who left bmi to join BMED and get commands their colleagues are still waiting for. Should they be demoted?
These things happen, however unfortunate. In any case, this isn't the place to discuss internal issues within bmi.
With regard to the seniority issues in the event of a possible merger with BA, the DOJ strategy adopted in bmi was the right one, however painful it may have been for some.
It would be difficult for BA to relegate the entire bmi pilot community to the bottom of its seniority list after BALPA upheld a DOJ strategy in bmi.
The precedent set in bmi would, by rights, have to be observed.
