Icelandair pilot pay

I was wondering what the typical Icelandair cockpit crew gets for compensation?

Plenty of cod and haddock crew meals, and lots of blonde stewardesses? But for that climate....is any compensation enough?

It's fairly pleasant in BIRK today - although this is my first time in the country

Datafox, Icelandair has been suffering severe cutbacks as the economy is going through more severe trauma than the main European economies. They have been furloughing quite a high proportion of their pilots. There are many that have been let go.

Icelandair pilot pay

Neither Icelandair nor FIA ( the Icelandic Professional Pilot Union ) publish their
contracts. But it can be read in the publication called Tekjubladid that senior
training captain grosses ca 8-9k Euros while a senior co-pilot makes ca 4k/month.
On the whole they do all right compared to the rest of people here, not many duty
days and some enviable fringe benefits ie duty free purchase rights, per diem not
taxed, long vacation rights etc
Regretably FI has had to downscale due to the severe economic crisis here and of
course the financial situation of Icelandair was not improved with the actions of
its former owners alias the asset stripping financial vikings.
Extremely difficult for foreigners to get cockpit jobs at Icelandair.
