I think you'll find that the salary is 6,500 euros plus 1600 euros flying pay...per month, if you have 4000+hours on b737 or equivalent. accomodation paid for at base. Free tickets on their network. Also, overtime at 80 euros an hour over 80 hours per month.

I would love to believe that, but I think that doesn"t square up with how things are in Romania.
Generally, those working in professional positions are paid pre-revolution salaries but alas (at least in Bucarest) EEC prices prevail (certainly for accomodation ) . I would be delighted (as the other half is Romanian . . . . but she assures me Bucarest is even more of a sh1thole than in 89 think EEC money was "diverted" ) to be proved wrong, but I doubt it somehow.

I sure hope that there isn't some confusion here between the Euro & the RON.
If you google average salaries in Romania by profession you will find that Airline pilots are at the top of the pile with a little less than 6000 (RON ! ) per month before approx 43% deductions.
8100 RON = 2000e.
What is written on the web and by some here would tend to suggest that the 6500 & 1600 is in the right ballpark but the wrong currency.
If they are really paying 8100e & accomodation & overtime two things are certain. 1 -They will be inundated with applications & 2 - their full time guys are going to cause a riot if Johnny foreigner arrives and earns 4 x as much.
This sounds (on the face of it ) too good to be true, usually if it smells of "you know what" there is some present (or just some confusion )
I would be delighted to be proven wrong, but knowing the "economics" of Romania something doesn't add up.
The market is flooded with 737 guys, why pay your contractors 4 times the average full time salary ? (even for 1 year)

Did anyone go here ? if so, are the payments as mentioned above ? is there likely to be any further requirment from what your ear close to the wall can hear ?
Thanks in advance.
