Took a look at the T/Cīs. 4300 Eur pr month. 1050 Eur per diem total pr month. Total of 5300 take home salary a month. Could be better could be worse. They also provide you with furnished apartments. Is there anybody on the forum who can shed a light on living in Kazakhstan? Safety matters, hygene and general conditions of living.

I can only speak for Almaty having lived there. Its a great place, fairly liberal, some great clubs (try Petroleum) - much better than its neighbour Uzbekistan for facilities (although ironically clubbing is better in UZ). Decent Shopping Centres and reasonably priced. Come a long way in 10 years since the boom. Also the Police/Militsia don't hassle you - all in all recommended.

Although I'm into Photography. A snap from the vicinity of our 737 of a 125 (I think the Prez owned it) nearly got me arrested - but other than that - never any hassle

Astana pay scale

Pay and extras have been reduced after the indgo and scare bus scabs showed up. Life is still fun here if you are a bit adventureous, but do note this is only a temp position unless you are Kazakh.

A good job?

Not really a decent salary even if it's completely net take home of 5300 euros per month.......euro is declining.

However heard the Kazakh girls are easy and hot despite the winter chill!

Same can be said about many UK cities!

Once a regular visitor to Almaty, as others say, a decent enough place, good restaurants, bars, clubs, shopping etc. 5300 Eur makes around 7700 USD, you will be among the highest paid in the city!

As for safety, it's a safe as you make it.

Disagree. I have lived there and never had any problems. The Poster that mentioned the UK I fully agree with however. Much safer than your average UK city. Just use commonsense and generally you'll be safe anywhere.

City is fine. It's what you make of it. Great outdoor life.

Call or email Avril at Sigmar / Hannah at DPI. They are the two Astana recruiters and they will have the latest needs at Astana.
