Post net jets

Hi Guys,

Can anybody give me the heads up on working for net jets?

How much?
How hard
How flexible
do you get bothered on days off
do they get you home
do they look after you
any perks
How hard is it to get in?
Pilot turnover?
Insurance, etc

If anyone can answer any or all of these questions I would very much appreciate it.

Since I am on hols in Vail I am feeling generous.

FO 56K Euro, Capt 95K Euro
70 Euro per day while on tour ie, allowances.

Contracted to work 200 days a year. Subtract 22 days a year from that for leave. Pans out to 50 days per quarter. Roster is optimised to give 6 on, 5 off with some variations to make the 50/3 months. (I did the maths the other day, I work about 50 days less than my husband who works for easyJet)

How flexible? Not sure what you mean there. You do your best to make the day's flying work but not expected to break the rules or operate illegally. You are expected to find solutions to various problems that crop up.

I've only been bothered twice in 3 years. First one was to ferry an aircraft up to maintenance. I thought it would be interesting so I accepted. Second time I was asked if I had visas for the States and would I like to ferry a brand new aircraft across the Pond. That was a resounding yes.
Generally, your days off are sacrosanct.

Yes you do get home. If you don't get home, that's extra money to you. You are positioned to the aircraft you're tasked to fly on Day 1, and you're flown home on Day 6.

Looked after? When I ended up in hospital after belting my head, I was airlined home the next day. From what I have gathered, if you have a problem at home (child sick, wife going into labour, etc) they'll get you home ASAP. If you're a whinger, the fleet managers are less likely to help you, if however, you have a genuine problem on tour, they're available 24/7. (That's been my experience)

Perks? Meeting and chatting to our owners. Flying a pretty new bizjet around the place. Very interesting flying. Great crews. As many hotel points and airline miles you can poke a stick at.

How hard? It depends on you. Process is changing this year. Psycho testing etc.

Turnover. I think it's around 8-10% at the moment. Current pilot population is about 1,000 and growing.

Insurance. Health insurance for you and your family. LOL still being worked on...

I love the job. Got great crews and Fleet managers to work with. I fly a fantastic machine (Hawker 800 XPC) and have some very interesting machines and opportunities ahead. Varied flying with no 2 days the same. Expected to be a pilot and a manager. However, do have to load bags, clean/tidy the aircraft, cope with changes in the flying programme and so forth plus be away from home 5 nights in a row.

It's not for every one but it is fun.

Some more info for you:

How much: donīt forget a bonus after 3 years of 3000, and 10 years of 10000 euros. Also remember that the netto salary is very dependent on where you live but couls be very good. Send me a PM if you want to know about your country.

The work can be hard on workdays in the summer, but overall itīs quite ok. I am an instructor, which means I fly more than normal line guys and I have never worked as hard as I did in my previous job.

Flexible: The schedule comes out on the 15th of the month for the next month with workdays and days of. This is fixed and cannot be messed about with. Obviously giving the nature of the business a workday is all about flexibility (meaning for instance, you are just about to head to the hotel and they call you to go do another flight, thatīs part of the game).

Days off: I give the company my flexibility on workdays. As a result I expect them to leave me alone on my days off. I have never been called in three days on a day off... Then again I switch my phone off on my days off

Yes they do. At least if you live anywhere close to the 40 bases currently available. For details check out the website.

They do look after you, with a smile towards there own pockets as well, meaning that the hotels are generally of good standard without going over the top. According to the books 3 star hotels would be considered suitable accomodation. However, they normally book a four star hotel unless there are no other options. Stories of soon to be fathers being flown home with one of our own privat jets to make an early delivery of their wives have happened more then onces. On the other hand do not call in sick with bull!!!! reasons, they do not like that. Itīs a give and take deal.

Perks:
- Best flying in the business
- See some famous people (if you are into that)
- Loss of license insurence
- Private medical with BUPA which is excellent!
- Pension (whatever you lay in they increase by 50%, not such a good deal but better then nothing).
- Kidnap and ransom insurance (I know, why for the love of god would you want that).

ciao
