why would it be privileged information.they are the pilots' representatives,are they not?the are obliged to tell people what is going on in the destruction of their terms and conditions.oops!sorry they don't do the democratic thing.they decide what we want and impose it.word all over the crewroom mate!

I Agree.It is hard to know who to believe.But i have nothing to gain by telling untruths.Unlike management and their stooges.Why the delay with the result.I Would have thought they should be trumpeting the success of the new sham deal from the highest mountain.So keen were they to have it foisted upon the pilot group.Perhaps a little gerrymandering taking place!Heaven forbid!

Simple question, and perhaps 'Flying Lawyer' is reading. Is it legal under EU labour law for an empoyer, with so numerous employees, to blackmail those employees into not having collective bargaining rights and union representation?

no it is not legal.but with all of such cases.illegality is only applicable if one is willing to stand against it in a court of law.ryanair counts on the fact that they can out gun any small fry such as individual pilots with their bank balance and high flying lawyers.to date only ialpa have taken them on and won!

One thing you will not have to very long wait for,is further reduction of your terms and conditions.If you are waiting for union recognition,then you can speed it along by getting to work with your colleagues.

I would just like to take this opportunity on behalf of all the weak and spineless FR pilots to say sorry to the rest of the industry (unbelievably those who did vote for it seem to think they have got a fair deal!!!!). This awful deal has set a new low point towards the degredation of T&C's within the industry.
I didn't even consider voting for this deal, not even for a second. It takes us below the level of the last deal (circa 2000), and most importantly has no independent system of arbitration or dispute resolution. On top of that there is no mention whatsoever of basic salaries, so expect the £30k Captain to be on its way soon (and no doubt complaining on here about it too
).
We can only hope that union recognition at FR will be on its way in the new year, but I'm not holding my breath!

It appears that as of today the tre's will now have to pay the licence tre revalidations.somewhere in the region of 1200 euro every 3 years.good work by the 2 tre's on the erc,to convince the pilots to vote for an instantaneous in their terms and conditions.

I've just returned from Gdansk, and I've bought Lech Walesa with me. We're all going to chip in for his 737 rating. RYR are bound to employ him 'cos he's Polish.

I'd really love to get off my 5on 4off roster that never changes, back to 'who knows what's coming next'.
While I'm at it reduce my take home salary by at least 20 percent.
I'd really like to get back to flying those 'real' jets - you know - the ones with the tech logs full of defects and every man and his dog putting pressure on me to do the trip.

I have been on 5/4 for nearly two years and have never been dicked about - if I start being dicked about I'll review my situation.
Contracts are barely worth the paper they are written on no matter where you work. Give it a chance - your lifestyle will improve immensely.
I'm not thick. I am a relatively experienced pilot (13k hrs)and I have worked for a lot of different companies in different countries too so I feel justified in expressing an informed opinion.
Please don't insult me without facts to back up your misguided assertions.

still laughing at the above comment by Stan. So you didnt get switched to 5 3 last year for four or five weeks, even though we were over crewed and there was no reason for it? So you didnt get 12 annual leave days allocated on OFF days? You must be one of the lucky few..(or managment )that didnt get dicked around.

So glad I don't work for Ryanair. Happy Christmas.
Those of you who hold that opinion are almost as dangerous as the indifferent pilots of Ryanair themselves, who almost daily sit by and watch their Terms and Conditions enter a freefall that has, almost, but not quite reached terminal velocity.
To sit back and say to oneself, I'm allright jack, just won't do. The way in which Ryanair treats it's staff is the envy of every Personnel manager in this industry who has their salary tied to staff costs. Ryanair is a monster airline, monster size, and it's tentacles are spreading to all parts of the industry, and will reach you eventually. To think you are safe is the height of naivety.
If you are a BALPA member you should be asking them what they are doing about Ryanair. Even if you don't work there, if you are a Pilot in Europe, you should be very very worried about what it means for you.
