I don't normally comment on individuals, but Clara, you are the worst type of pilot/teamplayer there is.

I wonder how full of the joys of orange Clara will be when she gets told to do one come the autumn.

You would think balpa is a waste of time anyway Clara, you have made it abundantly clear on these forums you don't mind in the slightest being shafted, so yeah you're right - for your sort balpa is useless.

insideezy,
good to hear, maybe if BALPA can get the foot in the door another well known loco could be enhanced by the same methodology.

Flamin Clara,
you really are a rather silly little girl are you not ?

Clara,

You seem too bad to be true.
I'm beginning to think that you should be some management guy
writing here. Aren't ya?

playstation: but I am led to believe that their contract is not so favourable in other respects.
You are not the expert you think you are; the european contracts are, by far, much better than the UK ones.

...until, that is, the € collapses. Financial armageddon is on its way to the ECB too.

I wasn't speaking money, I was speaking terms & conditions, which I am led to believe were less favourable. The exchange rate part of the equation is just fortuitous, but if you live in the Eurozone so what ? you didn't get any more money ( unless you own property or have some interest in the UK ) you merely got a leg-up in comparison to your UK colleagues.
I am sure NSF could fill us in as to whether the Eurocontracts are inferior, maybe it is not the case ? but I believe that is what was posted here.

its doesnt matter what happens to the euro if you are paid euros and spend euros!!

The italian and spanish contracts ARE better than the uk ones, more leave, and now have LOL, bonus, tax free sector pay, union representation etc etc, having recently been revamped. And our UK ones are not bad at all!! Go figure.

And for the benefit of the PS2 non believer, I'm sure NSF will confirm that is indeed the case!

Dont believe everything that is posted on pprune - a lot is bollocks, eh playstation?

I was just wondering if they have met their summer needs by temporary contracts as they had planned in February....
Anyone better informed?

Very hard to give an exact answer. Right now there are a pile of people going through the training system. I hear that the Sigma scheme (150hr self-financed line trainees from last year) has run into a snag to do with insurance/legality. Therefore CTC has adopted them in some way. The only pilots I therefore know of going through training right now are CTC cadets or pilots employed on the CTC flexi-scheme system.

There are signs that the 'roster optimiser' may not be as fantastic as originally thought and that we may yet end up with crew shortages over the summer - no doubt Titan et al will be delighted! There are a number of temporary commands being offered to current easyJet FOs - they get a £10k bonus but go back to the left seat for the winter with no guarantees about next summer.

The truth is that right now no one has the slightest clue about next winter or the summer beyond (2010). The western world is in financial meltdown and even Ryanair have posted a loss. Loathsome as they are, every airline in Europe will be alarmed at that. At this juncture we are looking like we will declare a profit come September, but I would not like to predict next year. Therefore recruitment is a massive unknown. No one at easyJet, or any other airline for that matter, really knows what demand is going to look like next year. All airlines make winter losses but everyone needs to minimise those as much as possible. My own feeling is that few, if any, of the current crop of trainees will be offered winter jobs. Alas, no one can tell you what recruitment will be like next year - there is not a single person at easyJet, from the CEO downwards, who could accurately answer that question right now.

Totally agree, but give me one, just one, example where an airline management looked beyond the end of their nose/contract. . . go on , I dare you.

Well, 800 Ezy flights won't fly this summer due to a lack of staff. This info was given to crews during recurrent SEP training.

Have they run out of chequebook fisrt officers?

Also NSF why have Sigmar had insurance difficulties? Is it likely to affect Cash to crash(CTC) in the near future?

box, I'm not doubting what you've been told, I simply find that astounding! There is certainly no shortage of cadets for easy but perhaps the problem is training captains? Interesting to see what their solution is.
