TAAG - Angola
Could get a job offer as B777 captain with TAAG in Angola.
Is there anybody around who has experience with this airline and who could give me some information?

TAAG Angola
777pipi,
You may get a better response to this Q on the African Forum. I haven't been through Angola (Luanda and Mocamides) for over a decade, thank god ,but it was a hell hole then and its not much better now(according to a mate still there working in retailing).
Bribes galore and armed gangs in the capital and a company culture such that when you depart Windhoek Int en route Luanda in your 737 and get invloved in a mid air collision with a twin prop out of Eros, you just continue your climb to cruise altitude and swan off to LAD as if nothing had happened.

There are no armed gangs in Luanda.
Its what you make of it, not a clean place for sure but lots of resturants and Miami Beach is great for a Sundowner.
Keep your nose clean and do your job and put the cash in the bank and go home.
Some guys love it and get a local girlfriend and learn Portugese and relax, calma calma.
Its Africa mon not for all but better than some camp in the desert with no cool ones if yo uknow what I mean.
Angola is booming, have a go at it.

Thanks ColeFace for your reply... That's exactly what I think about Angola. But has anyone an idea about the airline, about TAAG - that's what I am most interested in. Thanks!

Pity about the ICAO ban on TAAG to fly into European/US airspace! - (SAA is doing their flying for them on a B744) strong rumors that SAA is going to take over the trip 7's - so give that job offer some serious consideration!
