Have you also received a mail from Easy Jet's recruitment office telling you nicely that they just cancelled your whole application in their internet portal?

Am I supposed to rebuild my entire data again out of my memory?

And what about the mail I received from recruitment (not the automated, a personal one) that my application has been processed and that I will receive an invitation soon (that was half a year ago). I'm a CMD with 3000 hrs on A320.

<sigh> I think there was really a mess in this office. But I'm not sure if I am strong enough to enter that whole thing again. My mail asking what to do of course remains unanswered. And EJ's homepage says that they do not recruit until end of year.

Any motivating thoughts is appreciated gladly...

Last year (I am told) there was a similar IT mess up!
A company growing as fast as EZY will always have IT problems. Additionally everybody moved from EASYLAND to HANGAR 89.
This should be no excuse, just a rational explanation.
Of course it is BS to write down all data again!
Maybe it is motivating for you, if you make into EZY, you are flying for a (meanwhile) airline, worth flying for. Is it money or a stable roster.

I've applied about two month ago, but I did not receive the e-mail so far...
Maybe it ended up in the spam box??

i have got this email too, but at least i have been employed by them since 2 month, so far i can see its a great company despite the fact that they have a little problem with dealing with that amount of applications.
If i were you i would send it in again and again, because they will hire at the end of the year, so make your choice Milan or Madrid or maybe anything interesting new!!!!

Look at it from the bright side, at least you have a great excuse to start spamming/contacting EZY again. That's the only way to get in anyway: get in directly touch with the recruitment team in a polite and friendly, yet assertive way and gently massage your application into the brain (?) of the recruiters.

Typical though of EZY: the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing... The money in EZY is ok, but you pay a high price with regards to health and lifestyle for it in return. Be careful what you wish for as it's NOT a long term career, unless you go part time. (which is usually not available) Don't say I didn't warn you!

You´re not the only one....

Hello guys,

I think many, many, many pilots have received that same e-mail, incl. me.

This is definitely not an IT problem. If you check out the easyJet careers website, it now states that your application will only be held on file for 6 months, and after that it will be cancelled and you will have to re-apply again and again and again, if you want to work for the big easy.

Also, Dani, I´m sorry to inform you that easyJet are not looking for direct entry Captains in the foreseeable future (I´m in the same (life)-boat as you, mate) but they have said that before, so let´s see how long this will be the case. Worst case you will have to apply as F/O and then go through the fast track command assesment thingy.

they will need some DECs next winter again. Not sure which fleet though. The last of this year's DECs are being trained as we speak.
The recruitment department has always been inconsistent due to it being populated with admin bunnies. Every now and then someone who knows a bit more about flying gets involved....but it never lasts long

According to some one from Management I spoke to there are 111 pilots in the holding pool at the moment. I am not sure as to the break down of F/O's V Captains swimming.

I think we are getting 3 More Airbus up to November 07. Between November 07 and November 08 another 12 should join the fleet according to the website. The Boeing 737 are around for another 2 years at least.

Hope these figures are of use to you guys trying to get in. I have to say I have no regrets joining

Another number from inside is, that the company will be needing about 1400 pilots over the next few years (4 or 5) as i heard it from someone in the know.

So just hang in and copy those applications again, and again, and again, and...........

I undrestood that recruitment had been cancelled until nov.
Yet I read about a bus rated guy being recently invited for an interview within the next few days. Presumably as FO.
What's going on then in there? Would not the 111 in the pool sufficient?

Pilots / new aircraft

Hi all...

- Applications will only be held in the system for 6 month - true
- new entrant courses for this year are all full
- applications will be processed slower than during the last couple of month
- successful => holding pool
- every 12 days a new A319 is delivered to easyJet
- delivery rate will continue for the next 15-18 month

Easy's policy is to promote from within. But, due to the high number of cadets, there will always be a requirement for DEC's to keep the average experience levels sufficiently high.

In defence of the recruiment department they do have a huge task and I'm sure that errors do occur and applications get lost. Whilst it may be a pain to have to keep applying - well that's what you have to do. The advantage of re-applying is that you KNOW that your new application will get looked at as opposed to being number XXX towards the bottom of the ever increasing pile. The fact that there are so many applications says a lot about the attractivness of eJ as an employer.

If you want to fly very modern equipment, with excellent training, in an expanding airline with potential for rapid Command - then having to re-apply doesn't seem like such a chore as some would suggest...... or is it me?

A pretty even balance of all since it going to take the average CTC cadet at least four years from joining to amass the hours necessary to go into the command development procedure

Just which airline did you work for before where life was so wonderful and just which airline would you go to to improve things? You don't know a good job/career when you see one. Stop griping and writing rubbish and get on with your job.

Rubik, harsh but fair!

A few years ago easyjet was a shambles, but things have improved considerably and the attrition rate has dropped hugely as pilots are no longer voting with their feet. If easyjet comes up with a sensible pay review this year (through BALPA) the medium term outlook for the pilots could be very positive.

much as I would agree that orangejet has moved on considerably from the webster era, I wouldn't yet go as far as to say it's a career airline. It is certainly heading in the right direction. Although the boss is a vast improvement on the previous incumbant I don't think we'd even be close to where we are now without BALPA and long may they reign. We are still way behind the game on the overall package regarding Health care, loss of licence, pension, sick pay and a raft of other topics. I think a fair part of the current retention rate has to do with the fact that there is now a belief that in time these may actually be achieved.
When compared to 2 years ago the place has changed beyond recognition but there's still a lot of work to be done.
