Cool Futura International Airways

Anyone worked for them? Do you have any experiences related to this Spanish charter flights company? I'd like to find out what do you think of this company.

If you book a flight with them to BFS you may well end up in Nutts Corner.

At the moment is one of the best companies to work for in Europe. One of the best kept secrets in Spain. Their pay is very similar to the one in Iberia, yet they have very light winters.

From what I know foreigners have worked in the airline but only as temporary contracts for high season through known agencies. To be hired directly with FUA permanently you have to; Be a spanish citizen or speak it fluently, min 2000 hrs and 737 TR, if no TR but 2500hrs total, they might train you if needed. Good contacts and Inner promotion (workers in the company) have priority. After expect base somewhere in canaries for min 2 years, then maybe get PMI, Lots of nights away from base, sometimes too many. Fly charter in and out of spain and fly wet lease from many cities across europe with different call signs etc, good adventure if you like it,. Pay is good but very dependable on number of nights you stay away.
Promotion only within the company (+-7yrs). Lately winters are very busy, similar to summers,.

foreigners

About the necesity to be a Spanish citizen or speak it fluently, well it depends on various factors. To work within Futura International Airways it is correct, you need to speak Spanish to enter as a F.O. and then you can be promoted to become a captain.

But the company grows and expands outside of Spain and for instance to work in its Irish subsidiary Futura Gael one doesn't have to know Spanish. English is enough.

Other requirements: TR B737 and min. 1500 hours, if no TR 737 then more hours is required.
