excuse....maybe this is too complicated for me! but how did u get this info?:-))) we ll be sold to GB and what will happen to the existing 1400 crew of LGW SF? they will stay with GB? or 1400 crew will transfer to LHR? both of those scenarios seem like fiction!

Sounds like a repeat of what has happened to us up north. Nobody could ever have believed we would have been sold off to flybe.
Good luck

Newbagr
I beg to differ sir - BA Connect was NOT a franchise it was a wholy owned subsiduary which is completely different. We were owned by BA (when BA bought BRAL and merged it with Brymon to form BA Citiexpress which was relaunched as BA Connect 5 months before being sold). Had it been a franchise then it could not have been sold off. Not that we felt dumped with no support south of the Watford ........ Obviously your comment about it being a franchise shows ......... I can assure you being 'willied' is not pleasant.

Route swap with BA.

Longer BA Gatwick routes like Izmir, Reykjavik, Varna etc will become GB operations. A320s are much more efficient on these sectors, particularly as BA's 737-400s are payload limited on the return ADB-LGW sectors etc and have limitations on payload on KEF due to diversion alternates.

In return, short GB routes like Nantes and Montpellier will move to BA in return. BA can also use 737-500s on these routes to grow flight frequency and maintain year-round service which is not viable with the A320.

One set of LHR slots to be sold to BA. Double-daily Malaga and single Casablanca to be maintained, the daily LHR/Faro will disappear and be replaced with an extra frequency ex LGW.

Don't forget BA LGW that as long as they give you your notice they can make you redundent, your not untouchable, no one is!!

Not that i've heard rumours to this effect, just from prior experience, and I wouldn't put anything past WW. Just like Lingus, if he wants rid, he'll get rid!!

Connect were told they'd have 2 years to turn themselves around, oh and what a suprise, they got nowhere near that. Just shows how nothing can be taken at face value.

of course maz, but that applies equally to anyone in any job. he could make all lhr ww csd positions redundant tomorrow!

however the fact that there is a recruitment campaign for lgw tells you that there are no redundancies on the horizon

This thread is full of deluded GB pilots hanging on . There has not been one shred of evidence to back up any claims of an announcement of any kind at BA or I am told at GB .

We can all be made redundant Maz11 but it is however illegal to make somebody redundant in order to give their job to someone else.

March the first will come and go , BA will still be doing the same thing , GB will may not remain a franchise , maybe FlyBe will help you boys out though !

I think posts from people like 'MAZ11' and 'MEMPHIS' are detrimental to PPrune , just off the cuff remarks from people who obviously know very little !

Really... I don't think so...

Yet another example of a self-elevated individual who thinks he is completely untouchable as he is employed by BA. Well... hate to tell you this, but it's time to start smelling the coffee!

Also, for your information, in case you logged into the wrong site... this is the Professional Pilots RUMOUR Network... it is all about RUMOUR... and that is why people are posting RUMOURS.

Had to laugh at some of the above. BA are pulling the 737s off NCL and one GLA rotation for the summer season to pick up some of the GB routes to Spain (and NQY, but that's another story).

Am I alone in thinking that less and less people involved with the airline are now trying to influence PPrune I think we should continue to discuss what is important NOT c**p

Well said Controller, just food for the snide journos out there. I thought P/O Prune was a recipient of the famed "Rigid Digit"! Maybe it should be re-instated?
