To my knowledge, the process requires that you have an address in the UK, the filling of a form, and the payment of some fees.

I had some problems when transferring to JAR/UK/CAA from german JAR/ATP with the acknowledgment from the LBA to the CAA regarding my MEDICAL.
After some telephone calls and faxes it worked out.
If I remember right, the conversion fee was about 250 Euros`?
Normally only a matter of time (and money)

1.) You`ll get problems if you have a rating in your licence with says for example "A-320 Series Copilot". Because they don`t issue copilot restricted rating in their UK-licence! They didn`t convert mine.
2.) Be aware, it takes up to 3 months for conversion
