East Midlands Airport Accommodation

Just curious as to what accommodation is like at East Midland Airport for Ryanair folk. How much is the cheapest renting arangement ie room and do most flat together.

Secondly, is there lots of good accommodation near to the airport ie. 5 minutes, by bus or car.

What's it like up there - you hear all sorts of things so appreciate some feeed back.

One word of advice is stay clear of the Thistle Hotel, only £165 pn B&B when I was looking it up after offer from Ryanair. There is also a travel lodge near by about 10minutes away and costs £26pn if pre-paid.

You can do a google search for Castle Donnington, Eisly, and Melbourne for B&Bs. B&Bs run about 26ppn non ensuite to circa 38ppn ensuite.

try NEMA websire they have some links. If no transport you need to be on the bus routes which can be linked via the airport web site

The Ryanair rate at Thistle Hotel EMA is GBP£59 without breakfast and GBP£65 with breakfast. There is a quota of rooms at the hotel at that rate and ideally you should book at least a week in advance to get that rate. It is walking distance from Ryanair's SIM centre and they also operate a courtesy coach bus for free from the Thistle to the Ryanair centre. Ask for one of the newer rooms. The breakfast is not great. There is good takeaway food in the filling station across the road.

Parking is a little limited now at the Ryanair SIM centre as they have just installed a new cabin crew training block with a 737 fuselage inside it. It has lost approx 14 parking spaces.

Parking at the Thistle for guests is approx GBP£5.

Ryanair Crew booking well in advance can try and get a rate of GBP£ 25 per night room only at the Hilton Hotel which is approx 4 miles away.
