I have been looked after by Wilfred T Fry for over 10 years and have found them to be excellent. I use all three divisions, tax, legal, and financial planning. The first two have saved me money and the latter has made me some. I would recommend them highly.

From my personal experience I would n't go anywhere near Fry's.
I understand BALPA no longer takes their advertising in The Log.

Question UK pilots living abroad (commuting, health insurance, tax)

Hi guys,
I guess many of you (UK-pilots) live somewhere abroad (like me). It would be interesting how you handle several things, so maybe I and all the others get some more hints and tips. Just tell me/us an interesting story
1.) From where do you commute? (europe, overseas?)
2.) What if u get sick, do you have an insurance from your employer to see the doctor aboard, or do you fly back to UK? Do you have an extra health insurance in UK?
3.) Can u save taxes due to commuting?
I'm excited about the answeres
C ya

In need of advice

Hi
I need advice on taxes, say working and "living" in the UK , and living in say for example France.
Does anybody know of a good financial adviser who is good at this kind of thing? Willing to travel to meet him but would prefer something around south east.
Thanks for your help

Sal

You asked a big question, Sallymo, and without knowing your background it's difficult to comment, hence the lack of replies.
Very briefly if you are a Brit and live and work in the UK you will pay UK Tax. If you are a Brit who works into/out of the UK as International Crew but lives full time with France then at the moment there may be considerable Tax savings. , due to the bilateral tax agreement between the two countries. However there are plans in the pipeline to reduce the tax advantage of living in France.
W T Frys were the experts in this work, so maybe search for them on the web, however they are v. expensive, IMHO.
