RYR Direct Entry Fast Track Command experience?

Hi all

Does anybody have experience good or bad with the following promise by Ryanair. How did it work, and did you have to move to another base for your command.

Direct Entry Fast Track Command positions; first officers with more than 3,000 total hours and 500 hours on type can apply for a fast track command position, you can enter the command evaluation process after 6 months flying as a Ryanair First Officer.

First hand info much appreciated.

With respect, just do a search using "Ryanair" and work out the answer for yourself. You can then set the temptation against the "Ryanair uncertainty principle" and make a decision. (In other words, the same answer as applies to - among several examples - the following question: "I am a 200 hour CPL/IR and the only people prepared to offer me a job are Ryanair, but I have to pay up-front for a type rating, but they have offered me a full-time post with great money .... should I accept?).

Answer: do your research (not least on this site) and make your mind up. You are only inviting a repetition of a well rehearshed debate that has taken place many times.

Hi Aloue, with respect like you say, if you have nothing to add just keep quiet. JB is asking a very valid question which I am also interested in. I do not want to read about what others, in different scenarios, are doing.

Is it that difficult to keep a topic on track?

How closely they keep to their promise is loosely based on availability of Training Staff, which isn't always too good, and how loud you shout if they appear to be by-passing you, ( which can be purely due to losing the plot on their part). However they do need your ass in that left seat, so hey, give it a go if you have read / understood all the plusses and minuses well publicised here.There are however plenty guys inside with the pre-requisite experience, and, once they have got you, and you are in, your voice will be no louder than theirs, so don't expect miracles.

But UglyD I did have something to add. Which was to point out... what I pointed out.

If you read the large number of threads to be found here using the search function you will see that I have been one of many pointing out the substantial gap between what Ryanair say and Ryanair do. Anticipating a reaction such as yours I added the words "With respect..." to tactfully point out that queries such as this appear here every couple of weeks and that useful and essential information is already to be found on the site. You still managed to misread what I said and come back with an ill-judged reply. Why would anyone want to keep repeating the same stuff, endlessly, for someone like you?

Because I did a search and could not come up with the info from people who actually where in the same situation.

does it not? So did you read the information at the link I gave in the post above?

What did YOU conclude - beyond the fact that it does not address the exact situation you describe? (Neither does it address, for example, the current situation of Second Officers who joined on the basis of Ryanair employment and who are now being told that they can only work as contractors - on take it or leave it terms - nor does it address their changed pay conditions, or a number of other issues. But does each and every one of these changes for particular groups have to be spelled out individually ...... or is there not a broader message?).

On one specific question you posed: you should have been able to pick up from a search is the fact that movement to a new Base and a reduction in salary at the time of promotion are "not unknown" (to put it tactfully). Or that the "new 5-4 deal", which will apply to you, allows for a 15% reduction in captain's pay when you get promoted and incorporates a number of clauses which will permit FR to interpret the agreement as they wish.

Joe_Bar: Just read through the Guide (in Aloue's post) and make sure you understand it all. It's a really good pin-pointer of the T's and C's with the company. I will not tell you to back off, but I can guarantee you that you will be surprised...in a negative way, if you join. You may get linetraing after a short while, you may get your money according to contract, you may get your base....BUT it all comes down to whatever suits Ryanair. To them your both valuable and worthless...as I said whichever suits them. And don't even think that it won't happen to me...because it will. This is why most of us are fed up...we're treated like crap.
