Thank you Kak Klaxon,

For taking the time, effort and to rise above the temptation to post a sarcastic reply as I had expected from some on here. The points you make are great and make me realise there are still some good companies out there worth trying and trying to get in with.

Just need to get a job with them now .

Bacon slicer

What (precisely) is it you think is 'unsustainable' in Kak Klaxon's post?

Free uniforms perhaps?

Ahh!

kk's post is pretty accurate. I must admit surpise at some of the negative posts here. I must have worked for some pretty ****ty airlines in the past, because it's been the best yet for me. And if you don't like change or an uncertain future, what are you doing in aviation?!

Horses for courses I suppose, but most of the negativity seems to be on PPRuNe, not on the flight deck.

There's worse around, believe me, I've done it!

OK place to work. At BHX 2-5 nightstops a month for me and I have had three tours in 9 months so it's not all touring. Have been called on 2 of 6 standby's. Can't tell the future and life's too short to worry about it

Bacon Slicer you have serious outstanding issues that you best get sorted. My aunt is a counsellor if you're interested

Agree with the guy who made all those points

Despite being a leaver, I've enjoyed my time here.

(BTW N Nigel, you registered to say that? Stunning Debut mate)

Don't worry mate, if N Nigel's who I think he is, he's a cadet so probably wouldn't know a flying club if it bit him in the arse!

It sounds like Bacon Slicer is one of those old BALPA, by that I mean "British Airways Pilot Asso" whining bu@_)rs who has not grown up yet and sees the whole world as an unfair working enviroment with him being at the front. KK and the rest of the threads seem happy with there lot in life, good on them. Any one who delays a flight for a clean wipe needs there crystal ball reading in terms of there future with that company and if I had been a pax on that flight, I would not have seen the funny side of a trumped up t*t flexing his pathetick powers. Good luck KK safe flying, may the force of reason be with you. ITI

KK's post sums up the attitude of most of us to BA Connect. It isn't perfect, many of us have suffered base closures and FOs have seen time to command increase as the fleet reduces, but on the whole it is a decent place to work. The fact that Bacon Slicer thinks the ability to tech an aircraft without getting any BS from management or to request preferred days off from rostering (not extra days, just have an element of control over the days you have off) is unsustainable in 2006 seems a bizarre statement to make. Admittedly the 'delay for a wipe' story is pathetic, but I can assure you that is the exception and not the rule. The vast majority of us are working hard to make this company turn the corner and will go the extra mile day after day to get off chocks on time. Yields might be down a bit, but our load factors certainly seem to well up, so who knows, maybe the new brand, lower fares, some long, long overdue advertising and much better in-flight offerings will do the trick - it certainly wont be down to a lack of effort on the part of the crews.

FatFlyer "Get paid and Get laid" Enjoyed nearly four years in Brymon/BACX. Had one base change and three type ratings it was great.

Flew to most major european airports and the staff travel is great.

Enjoyable people to work with even with so much change about.

Rightly or wrongly the market is adapt to survive and at least efforts are being made hopefully for the best.

My entire joining course have moved on a few to Monarch, First Choice, Thompson and BA. So good prospects further on with other carriers.

If MAN or BHX is where you wish to live its great. Good luck
