Pilots Direct ? /Middle east job
Hi guys,
need some advice ..... been offered what appears to be a very lucrative permanent job for an up and coming middle-eastern flag carrier. I'm presently working in the uk and like the idea of getting a large aircraft rating on my licence. Anyone been way out yonder that could give me some valuable advice as to what it's like and if the money is as godas it seems?
looks like it could be good but you have to be careful of the terms and conditions. It's been offered to me by a third party "PILOTS DIRECT" not heard of them before but they appear to be professional. Anyone got any gen on them? The deal is as follows :
"First Officers (A300-600, A320 & A330)

Hi Mokey,
I have asked a wise man for you.
He say 'That Mokey must seek the wisdom of the Middle East forum'.
Having read most of it I'd say GO GO GO and make the most of a new experience but it won't be Utopia.
Set yourself a working limit in years, of the minimum time required to get all the company contribution out of the pension fund.
If you like it .... stay on.
If you hate it ....... well you have your plan, right?
Good luck!

Plenty of info on the Middle East forum which should give you a feel for working in sandpits.
But note that although grass is always greener elswhere, it takes a lot to make grass green in a desert!

You can say that again!
Make sure you look not only at the job "terms and conditions" but also the qaulity of the accommodation being offered.
Then follow the two bucket rule.
One for money and one for SHXT.
Leave after one of them is filled.

I have also been in touch with them. Does anyone have any first hand info about what QR is like to work for. It seems there is a lot of nepotism there?
