SE210, you say..
[quote=SE210

"And Scandinavianpilot - How many times over the last 30 years have the pilots actually went on a strike? To my knowlegde they only had a 2 hour strike two years ago, because the management was trying to screw the pilots in connection with the Braathens merger..Other from that - Nothing. Other labour groups in SAS have had many strikes, but not the pilots"

Well, the problem may not be the danish pilots, but SAS denmark as a whole! Strikes and slow going several times a year it seems like. You have a culture of confrontation and forcing youre will and needs over everybody else, never taking into consideration youre customers or colleagues.. Its just sad!

Burning down the house!

..another roumor says that the danish pilots are planning to "go all the way" once they can strike again. Willing to bring the company down!?

And a lot of colleagues that did´nt agree last time were bullied in a "picket" line outside the crewarea.
What kind of people is this?

Negotiations between SAS and the pilots have broken down completely as of late Tuesday afternoon. The pilots are refusing to accept being split in 4 different entities (DK/NO/SE/Intercont). Looks like another strike is looming.

Grrr

A Yank here. On 12 May, 1982, I made my last trip for Braniff International, out of RIO to MIA. Company went bankrupt while we were enroute. Next, flew for Global until too many of their paychecks bounced. Finally got on with NWA in 1984. Went from a B-707 Capt. to a B-727 F/E (Had been a DC-8-62 International Capt. with Braniff). Here's the bottom line: my wife and kids were very, very dad had a job that paid $ with paychecks that did not bounce!! Small as they were, these F/E checks were pure gold to a family that had not had dad earning ANY money the family could count on for over 22 months!!! Yes, at one time I was an avoud ALPA tiger, in fact a LEC vice-chairman. But, when one is "on the street" without a job, ever 50% of a previous very generous salary seems like manna from heaven. Last year at Braniff was a $87,000.00 one (1982) after a 25% paycut, which we all screamed, moaned, slung snot, and stomped our feet about. My Global salary was supposed to be $58,000.00, but 25% of the checks bounced..... My starting salary at NWA as a B-727 F/E was $21,000.... And.... fellows, I was DAMNED GLAD TO BE EMPLOYEED! I did retire at age 60 as a DC-9-30 Capt. @ $83,000.00 in 2000.....
Bottom Line: It is honorable to "Support your Union/Association" by going on strike, but you are not held in high esteem by your spouse when she has NO GROCERY MONEY!!!

Thumbs up Full support

As a Lufthansa colleage I would like to express my support for the Scandinavian Pilots.

NEVER split up! Everything else may be negotionable, but the mentioned split up (DK, SE, NO, Intercont) will weaken your position for ever.

Best regards

Charly
