EZY reserve period...

My Jan roster is mainly reserve period. I am working 6on, 2 off, 5 on 2 off, then to ltn for the sim. The two block of 6 and 5 days on are all nightstops away from base and I do not have any rostered standby duties at all during my reserve period.

Has anyone else had a simillar roster dring the reserve period recently?
To my understanding of the 5/2/5/4 protocol it is not what the reserve period should be about.

Anyway, not to worry, I will use the time in the hotels to work out how best to plan my leave and will check robbie williams tour dates to make sure I dont go accruing high points when Im trying to get my sons birthday off!

Re: EZY reserve period...

I have never had anything other than random rosters in my "reserve period" with very few (if any) sby duties. Most of the other pilots I have spoken to have been in the same boat.

Try looking on the BALPA notice board and you will see that this has been happered out on several occasions. If you are not a member, then you can join by visiting http://www.balpa.org/scripts/members_join.pl?act=form

Re: EZY reserve period...

The so called reserve period is just a tool for flexible rostering to the advantage of the crewing department.
Last "reserve" had a "normal" roster except my OFF-days! (to the bad side!) Good for the company-bad for us!
