Easyjet

Hi,

Any idea of how important is to have a sponsor when applying to EZY?

Thanks a lot.

It's probably more important to have a better job first!

Re: Easyjet

Are you saying that it is possible to join Easyjet without going through TRSS?

I have about 2k hours 1k jets, would I be considered for a SFO Job??

Re: Easyjet

Hello MD12!!

By sponsor I believe you mean a reference person within the company, right??

Not very important I should think. I was invited to a selection without having anybody in the company write me a recommendation. So it should be possible to get an invitation without knowing anybody in the company.

I also have 2T hrs and have been hired as a SFO.

And people, please....enough with the Easyjet bashing. Believe me....it all depends on where you are comming from. There are a lot worse outfits out there...believe me

Re: Easyjet

Fokkerdriver,

Yes, there are worse employers than easyJet, but they are, with one notable exception, the worst of the major airlines to work for. Worst pension. Worst rostering. Worst staff travel. Worst base transfer policy. Worst hotac. Worst sickness pay. And, if the management have their way, worst loyalty pay structure.

Re: Easyjet

Have just spoken to Ezy's pilot recruitment people.

No type rating onthe 737/Airbus means the TRSS is mandatory regardless of experience.

The lady I spoke to was very polite and wished me all the best for the future, the TRSS won't be for me, it begs the question how long this is going to continue. Im not looking to have a go at Easyjet but surely experienced guys arn't going to continue with schemes such as this as other jobs get vacated and people move along.

Surely it creates a bottom heavy enviroment with problems in the future.

Once again, not having a go. I would like to work for easyjet, just making observations

Re: Easyjet

G Spot,

I for one am convinced that EZY are building themselves a MAJOR experience gap. All new join FOs seem to be Cadets or low hour guys, whilst most of our SFOs are going to get commands in the next year or two. About two years hence they will have no-one to promote, be recruiting for DECs from a very competative market and have to come up with some big incentives to get the guys they need. This is at about the same time as the TRSS guys get the experience to jump ship, and work out the extra money they'll get from BA or Virgin will more than cover the repayments on the TRSS loan....

But I'm SURE management are on top of the situation....

Re: Easyjet

Gspot, shame you weren't after a position running the place, that is exactly the kind of observation people have been trying to point out from within. All the best for whatever you choose, a good decision wrt TRSS, there are better things out there.

Wiz, you beat me to it (nuff said)!

Re: Easyjet

If you have a Jet type larger than B737 you will not be TRSS.
If you have an ATPL JAR (and it will need to be a UK one) SFO otherwise you will be FO.
By knowing someone who can sponsor you it should help bring you to the attenton of recruitment more quickly. But it isn't always as simple as that!

Re: Easyjet

TDG,

As I understand it, no-one without either a 'bus or 737 rating is getting in except through TRSS. What is the source of your info?
