Liverpool or Manchester?

Hi everyone,

I've just got a call from VLM management!
After two years looking for a job, it's finally there. I am going to sign my contract tomorrow.

They offer me the choice as to where I want to be based. Liverpool or Manchester.

As I currently live in Belgium, I have no clue on how to make good a decision between these two cities.

So, Could you guys help me? Tell me the pros and cons of each city?

Thank you in advance and... Sorry if it's not in the good forum.

Bluesky.

No option.

Stay well away from the work shy thieving cess pit that is Liverpool.

Probably the worst city in the UK to have to live and work in.

Manchester is a cosmopolitan thriving city with everything you could wish for.

Liverpool as the City of Culture 2008 is a standing joke in the UK, unless of course thieving from graveyards counts as culture.

Liverpool or Manchester

Agree with b_t_s_m wholeheartedly - absolutely no contest.

Look to live somewhere in Cheshire in the lovely countryside east of the Low Level Route and South of Manchester Airport.

Hi
This is unfair. You probibily dont know half of Liverpool. It is a great buzzing city with lots to do.Yes we do have some bad areas but so does Manchester. No where is perfect. You say Speke is bad I know places in Manchester just as bad so stay off Liverpools backs. If you cant say anything good.Say nothing at all.
Regards
Michael

Well, that's one way of making sure Liverpool doesn't get a mention.

Manchester or Liverpool

I suggest you lot slagging liverpool look at bit closer at Manchester.
Is it me or is there a hole called wythenshaw right next door to man, where every type of scum lives and claims for every type of benefit going?
LJA may have speke next to it but so what!!!!
Its a great regional airport to work from , and ive worked at both Man and Lpl.
I know crew at VLM who say lpl is a great base to work from and some excellent shift patterns.
Not only that but accom to rent in liverpool is a lot cheaper even for the city centre.
We have some of the best clubs, bars and resturants not to mention football teams.
What does manchester have for it??? oh wait there... the M62 (the express way out of it)
Furthermore should you be based at LPL and not MAN then atleast you will be a face not just a number oh and you wouldnt have to go to a staff carpark ages from where you check in.
But hey thats just my opinion.
Dont mean to cause offence lol

I agree

Go and live in Self Pity City and watch the rest of the country laugh at you.

Just think of all the fun you could have watching flowers being stolen from graveyards on Mothers day (fact) .
You could join the mass mourning for unknown deceased scousers or spend your days going on about how great Tarby, Cilla, Macca etc are, and how it is a shame that all Liverpool's famous have long since seen the light and moved away from the rat infested dump.

Offence intended. I hate scousers.

Manchester is full of scum. Liverpool is full of intelligent, thieving scum with a great sense of humour!

Manchester. Its closer to Leeds!

I suppose it doesn't matter. All 3 cities are in the north so that means the people are funny and nice unlike the scum of the south that don't know how to communicate.

I would normally concur with you, however you are therby lumping the Scouse cesspit in with the others, and I can't agree with that.

I'd rather live in Baghdad than Liverpool.

Any of you care to take a look in the mirror and learn what is the meaning of Bigot? Been a while since I saw such instant vitriol. You represent our profession so well! Chill kids!

Have you been taught how to be so pompous or does it come naturally?

If you don't like the thread, may I respectfully suggest you sod off and leave us to it?
