You can look at getting about an extra 10k gross for sector pay. Basic salary is 40799 so at least 50k gross overall.

I take home 2800-3000 month and this equates to over 50k

shurely £3000 take per month equates to about £36K pa.? Or are you at our Mars base where the year is longer?

Seriously, the current situation is that 70% of sector pay is untaxed, and the rest is fully taxed, like your salary.

This means that for each sector, you get £8.40 +£2.16 = £10.56.

You fly close to 850-900 hrs per year, you work out an average sector time and this should give you a rough estimate.

Over the average year this would work out to be between £6000 - £9500 net; the upper limit only being possible if ALL your sectors were less than 1hr flying time = never gonna happen.

But payments for Days Off bought make quite a difference, too.

Anybody know what a skipper takes home? Is it tiny or has the wage slip grown up?

You'll be lucky to take home £2800 a month. I barely take home an extra £300 a month. but thats due to Cr*p rostering (still).

It also depends on your base. Those at EMA and BHX take home the most, MME and MAN the least. Sector pay is not like easy where it is factored (depending on length), so you will earn more at BHX and EMA for a 4 sector quick and easy day than putting in more time on a 2 sector at MAN or MME.

But the futher you are based from "tiny Town" the more enjoyable the flying.
