A new license in AVIATION>

I cannot stand to see the increasing number of Bluddy HR involvements in pilot selections and everything else. It use to be the bean counters that took over the aviation world and now HR seem to be always in the GESTAPO headlines. Considering you only need to have 3 months training and 5 McDonalds stars to be HR, how come they dont have to pay with CASH, SWEAT, EFFORT, 3 YRS TRAINING to be a pilot, and yet after a 3 month course you are qualified to rule a pilots life. After fuel price rises, the Bean counters lost out, so that means that all bean counters probably became HR people. The ultimate job for Beancounters and HR would be the CAA to ultimately screw pilots, unless you are airline management, in which case you started out in McDonalds and learn't to count before you worked in the BELGRANO, and then found out that fellow 5 starers could get you into a incompetent job in airline management, as you possessed all the right selfless qualities to aspire to these positions.

AIRLINE related> these people rule and MANAGE your life!!

Don't get me started out on the Psychs, who at school would play with a kid, or drink in a bar with a wannabe dude "PSYCH".

As irrelevant a comment as I've ever seen on pprune and that's saying something.

Winge has a point.
Obv something wound him/her up big time, but I must agree, I have never met anyone in HR who wasn't a waster! And not just in aviation.

I am very sad to say, that the biggest wasters are women. It seems to me, that HR is some sort of bottom pool, where the incompetents drop in. After they tried all the other departments, be it IT, Ops, Marketing, Customer Services.
They start out by screwing up your leave, then they can't cope with payroll nor pensions, then they somehow end up sifting thru CV's and ultimately, coz' the Fleet Manager can't be arsed today, they suddenly sit on your interview panel, not having a clue what to look for.

It really is a shame.

Clint said it all in one of his cop movies (Dirty Harry?). Being interviewed without coffee for wrecking a gas station with his car the boss yells at him, "Harry, I'm busting you to personnel" to which Clint replies, "Personnel! But personnel's for @ssholes!"

@ssholes, actually very usefull, .....a burst @sshole.......now that's something really useless!!!

It never seizes to amaze me what this bunch manage to come up with on a regular basis!

Last resort in career for someone suffering an inferiority complex - whom even the family dog never wanted to play with, unless a bone was kept tied around his neck......!

Now they are called HUMAN resource managers, recieve CV's with COVERLETTERS, addressed to THEM, and get to sit in on INTERVIEWS!

Have you STROKED your HR "person" today?

There's another Clint Eastwood quote that describes the problems of us pilots - and air traffic controllers for that matter (bless you guys and gals):

SH1T Rolls DOWNHILL!

Where does the buck stop?

P.P.
