Poacher / Gamekeeper?

Anybody know anybody who is a Flight Ops Training Inspector. Flight has the job, money looks good, package looks good......Weston Super Mare looks even better. What does the job actually involve apart from checking TREs, Sims etc etc.
I like the idea of being free of the bloody roster, but what is the downside? (Apart from losing all my friends, lol)
