Ryanair, T&C

Okay I've read all about the downside ... just after T&C.

1. Capt Pay, is it incremental (and by how much)
2. Sector Pay
3. Pension
4. Leave
5. Part time contracts
6. Other info

No, don't do it post please, just the straight facts.

ok then

1. for uk c£53000 pa. no increments (that i'm aware of but as with everything here - check your contract) except derisory annual 3% rise on basic NOT sector pay should oleary deem it acceptable. currently equates to less than 1.75% of total captains salary.

2. for uk again £20-24000 net pa. obviously has to be grossed up at 40% to get equivalent gross pay. hasn't changed for nearly 5 years. i got around £22000 last year. don't know where they get the advertised £100,000 captain's salary from. i've been here over 5 years.

3. stakeholder for new joiners. (fantastic eh?)

4. 29 days. that's working days so if you apply for 5 days leave they don't count the 3 days 'off' at either end. although the company doesn't have to give you the 2nd lot of days 'off'.

5. you're having a laugh aren't you?

6. what else do you want to know that isn't on pprune already? no food, no water, no sim travel or accommodation, no lol, uniform allowance BEFORE tax(!) - if you qualify which new joiners won't, ever increasing delegation of responsibilities to crews, etc, etc.

i don't have figures for euro contracts. but i do know it's worse.

So £53K basic and sector is £22net.

Grossing the £22k up at 40% = £36k So package about £89k before tax.

What does that equate to 'in your hand' at the end of the month? As an eJ Capt I get about £4300 on average, and then 7% in pension.

What about share options etc?

Much on a par, with eJ.
Have to wait and see what our pay deal is this year.

Be careful about direct comparisions. There are items to be paid for in Ryanair that you don't normally pay for elswhere (uniforms, IDs, car parking, etc.). Also, the pension has gone in Ryanair (which is significant, but does not feel like it is). Unless I am mistaken there is no entitlement to 3% p.a. and the deal that gave that to most - but not all - pilots ended this year. Homework essential when preparing for this bunch.

3% annual increment is not guaranteed and was withdrawn last year because of hard times.then ryanair go on to make £250 million profit.
captain clears £4800 per month,minus a hundred here and there for travel and accom at the sim or paying for own medical and licence renewal,meals,water,e.t.c.

c£5000 per month take-home is good money in this day and age. And the fact that Ryanair made a £250m profit last year means that a pilot's job with this company is likely to be more secure than in another less-profitable airline. Can't see what the problem is?
