Jet2 CTRS

Dear all,

I just sent my resume (applying for F/O position) last night to Jet2/Channex to apply for their CTRS. On their website they just mention Cpt position available but there was an advertising recently in FI about F/O position as well. I received an automatic reply from 2 different address saying that they will review all the applications within the next 2/3 weeks and will then contact the short-listed candidates. Anybody as any comment on this? Is it an automatic reply a bit outdated or are they still hiring?
Wich profile are they looking for?
And the usual question : How do you consider Jet2 against FR/EZY about terms and conditions? Sounds like the salary is a bit lower but according to what I read it's a good company to work for.

Thanks for your help.

Regards

Red face

EZY probably the best to go for in terms of salary, conditions, promotion prospects etc... If you are even considering FR then more fool you. As for Jet2, they seem ok to work for speaking to the pilots that I know there. However, do you really feel the need to pay for your own type rating given the bouyancy of the job market at the moment? Jet2 have been struggling to get pilots recently as many who were offered jobs found employment with better carriers who pay for your training. The more people that say no to these schemes, the greater the pressure for the airlines to abandon them.

I agree with you that paying to get training should not be done but I don't think that the market is so good for the moment. I also agree that a lot of airlines in UK are hiring but you have to be type rated or willing to pay the rating. According to me the Jet2 CTRS is just a kind of training bond. You have to pay the rating but they pay you back during 3 years, fair enough for me. They just want to avoid you to get the rating for free and then escape after 500 hours for greener pastures. Sound quite logical on an economical point of view. Once you are in the company and you change of type/seat I agree at 200% that you shouldn't pay. It's a 2 ways street, you did the first step by paying your initial rating, they now to have to take the risk to pay for your upgrade.
