Basing at EZY
Dear all,
Could some poeple from EZY give some infos about basing. My question is : What are the bases that everybody wants and the opposite? I’m more interested in DTM, SXF, ORY, GVA but infos about every base is more than welcome.
Any idea (guess) how long you could wait to get one of these?
Thanks again for your good help guys.
Regards

Not official, but what heared:
DTM: waitinglist (dutch, belgium, german) maybe one more aircraft in summer
SXF: waitinglist (swedish, german,) add. aircraft in september so!
ORY: waitinglist ( french) hard to get more SLOTS out of Paris
GVA: special situation (swiss AOC) and different regs. due to "non EU"
as I said, no official numbers, just by chatting to people.
Sure way to know call easayland officials. MAYBE!

Cleared ILS approach,
What ever base you get don't believe it until your actually there!
=> "By the way, what's the deal for EZY pilot on EZY flights for those who commute?"
You get staff travel, which is hit and miss. Its around £30 for a return confirmed seat, however sometimes you can book these 3 weeks in advance sometimes 1 hour- don't plan your life on staff travel. Also expect the aircraft to leave with 10 empty seats and not able to travel.
Don't plan on commuting, if your doing this on day's off you will end up more knackered than we already are!
Good Luck!

At the moment, there's a good chance you will be going to SXF.
SXF is about to become the biggest base this summer.
ORY has a big waiting list.
DTM holds a waitinglist with at least 13 Capt.
Allthough a 4th a/c is planned for the 1st of August, this might come forward depending on slot allocation in ORY and the performance of other LCC's.
As Kraut said, if you're rated that could make a difference.
Many collegues commute to all over europe, the netherlands, belgium, france, switzerland, etc on their days off. Aparantly a "treat" compared to what they were used to at the London bases with staff travel.
All the best!

Dear all,
Thanks for your help.
Kraut, I'm just about to send my application form so far away from joining EZY. Maybe one day, I really hope. I'm just trying to get as much infos possible in case I'm called for interview in the next months. I also have to give base preferences so I try to find the best ones for a belgian F/O.
Basic T, thanks for all the infos. I'm not T/R on 319 or 737 so I apply for TRSS. I understood that 90% of the new joiners go to the Airbus and most probably to SXF. Is it enough 2 days off to go back home? Do you know a lot of exemples? Could you give some infos about other bases in Europe and also UK. Thanks a lot.

ILS approach,
Well, DTM would be the best for you as it sounds. As far as I know the DTM base is primarely Dutch/Belgian's. Which means a 2 hour drive to get home.
SXF would probably a bit more difficult or do SNBRU fly on SXF??
As a TRSS-er I have no clue if that would affect your basing.
I haven't got a lot of info about other bases, all I know is really in my previous post. You will be rated on the 319 as no new 737 typeratings are given.
Airbus bases are; LGW/STN/SXF/DTM/ORY/BSL and from 2006 EMA & BRS.
Good luck
