EZY Leave and sector pay

You are entitled to sector pay whilst on leave, see T&G notices for further details, however :-

The Transport and General Union would like to hear from the pilot members who wish them to pursue a claim for unpaid sector pay whilst on leave.

This will hopefully be granted in an industrial tribunal shortly, and allow a claim for members pay to be back dated. Please contact any T&G Rep at EZY, email me direct or directly to The T&G. to register your a claim.

Those of you not in the T&G and would like to join, its £9.00 per month, and forms are in the crew rooms.
compared too

BALPA (who are not pursuing the claim for its members for £50.00 month).

regards from the T&G

... and I guess the T & G will also agree to sell off the loyalty bonus for peanuts - and without a ballot or consultation - just like they did to the cabin crew...

Thanks but no thanks!

.........and if TG are successful then tax benefits on ALL sector pay for the whole year are put in jeopardy.

Think beyond the end of the week, please!

And hopefully then BALPA will pursue T & G for the losses incurred by its memeber with the loss of tax concession.

Very short sighted indeed!

What?

Is that unpaid Sector Pay whilst not flying sectors?

Sorry, I don't know the background to this claim within the Company, but from an outsider's point of view it appears ridiculous.

I agree. It does seem ridiculous from an outsiders point of view.

It sounds like EasyJet pilots want flight pay whilst....well not flying.

The world has gone mad!!

No, it seems the cabin crew's union have come up with this wheeeze.

I cannot see where they have dreampt this up from, and if it does go through every commission based/bonus related/basic+commission related worker is going to be asking for holiday pay too! Dream on....

You splitter, it often helps to have the facts to hand before shooting from the mouth.

EJ pilots know nothing of this matter, which is why the T & G (a union that has nothing whatsoever to do with pilots) is trying to get a bit of self promotion in here. By reading the above thread carefully you will see that this is a cabin crew claim via the T & G that they are trying to spread wider.

World gone mad? Yep, every day normality at EJ. When did your union negotiate away one third of your leave and then advise you to accept it, or else??? Or give away half the pilot force's loyalty bonus without consultation? And now be on the point of negotiating away the rest?

And with this T & G thing most likely the company will see fit to simply abolish sector pay altogether in a fit of pique.

It's win, win, win every day at easyjet!

There's so much nonsense in your posting it's difficult to know where to start.................so I won't bother!

If, however, you ever come back down to planet earth it might be worth opening a debate sometime.

This is driven by TnG and Amicus ONLY. If it is even slightly successful, it will actually COST more than it SAVES.

I think this is based on another airline's cabin crew union arguing and winning a case based on the premise that holiday pay should be calculated on what their members were paid on average during the year, their salary package if you will, and that of course includes sector pay.

Their holiday pay had been based on basic salary only, and this in many cases is only half the "normal" pay received when flying the line.

I don't know about the tax perks, if any, they had attached to sector pay. Hopefully in this case, the union has calculated that even if they lose the tax breaks, they will still be benefiting overall.

Just to confirm, easyJet pilots are not pursuing this.

I'm sure I'm getting the wrong end of the stick here...Are the EasyJet pilots turning down the opportunity to get paid more money by the company? Or is it just a bit of union politicking?

Maxy,

The problem is that it would indeed cost the company more, and then cost the pilots more again in tax.

A portion of sector pay is non taxable. if, however, we start getting paid it during leave it will almost certainly be ruled 100% taxable.

More for the single mothers at the expense of our pocket and our companies competitavness.

Not a great result...

Hi Joe,

We rarely do overnights, so, whilst we could argue the case, we'd probabley loose.

Quite right AB. Quite right.
Maybe I didn't word my post rightly but I was actually more amazed at the way the original post was worded. It did rather give the impression that EZY pilots were looking to get sector pay whilst on leave.
