I'm not so sure Jet2 do own their own aircraft. My understanding is, and I admit it is a very sketchy understanding, that PM owns the aircraft through a private company and leases them back to jet2.
There must be some sort of rake-off.
If you ever shake hands with the boss, count your fingers, as ACL are finding to their cost.

Flew the LGW route this week and load was about 60% to MAN and about 80% back to LGW.
Paid £30 for the flights and got leather seats allocated at check in, brekkie cost £2, and a sandwhich back down cost £3. £35 for the exact same product BA would charge £65 for. As long as that point is emphasised there is no reason for anyone to fly BA unless they are connecting at LGW surely?

I can confirm that all ac are owned and operated by Channel Express Air Services. Except TF-ELZ that has been leased in for the summer for maintance cover. As you know Jet2 is just a trading name of Channel Express.

I had the interview too Paper Lad, apart from the fact I don't do maths, I'm not too sure what they're looking for? Other airlines actually ask you to fly something to see if you can do your job and not some random irrelevant test! Anyway, if you feel that strongly about it, why not set up a property business or something and have a career change?
Of course, I didn't get it either!

fewcloudy,
Great reply but I was thinking of investing my £20k in a brothel, at least with that the interviews will be a bit more fun.
Who knows, maybe I'd make enough money to set up my own airline. Fancy a partnership?
