Brookfield 737 Jobs

A quick question for the more informed folks of you. I have been contacted by Brookfield to send my resume for a 737 job posted on Flight International. Have read here that Brookfield mainly recruits for Ryanair ? Anybody shed some light who that 737 operator might be ? Said JAR licenses required and various bases (sounds like Ryan).

Thanks !

If they offered a tax free salary of 3000 euros/month it might be Pagasus Airlines in Turkey. They say they will base you in Algeria initially until your work permit for Turkey comes through.

I have recieved a similar offer from Brookfield. With this info:

Please only apply if you have actual time on the aircraft either 737 EFIS or NG. Those pilots with EFIS experience are welcome as their is an upgrade across to the NG. We do not require 737-200 pilots at all.
The interview is in EMA.

This is not Ryan. (They don't have EFIS, I think) Is it Pegasus?

best is to avoid any jobs contracted via Brookfield. Brookfield doesn't care about anything concerning the arranged contract, no assistance - nothing - except their own pay. Seems to be a "LCC" or "no-frill" broker.
Worked with/via Brookfield once in the past, since then I delet all incoming job offers from this "company".
Better You check the website of a "good" or "real" broker e.g. Parc, for job offers.

Cub71 - the statement you have in quotes indicates the job is for the NG since it says "efis guys there is a conversion for you ONTO the NG"

That said - I'm not saying who it is as I haven't got a clue! He'll find out in time though when he turns up and is presented with a big jar of Vaseline hehe!!!

Thumbs down Brookfield takes your money

Do not work for them, I did and they refuse to pay salary afterwards. Without any reason....

IT IS BETTER TO BE WITHOUT WORK THAN TO WORK FOR A COMPANY LIKE BROOKFIELD AVIATION, SURREY.

Although it is illegal the agency won't pay your salary unless the company pay them.
If you work for Brookfield/Ryanair you are allways paid in time, but if pegasus don't pay them they will not pay you.
I had the same problem working for Storm Aviation and an Italian company. had to stop working three times to get the Italians to pay.

Brookfield reported to police

Since they are not paying as promised a report to the local police authorities (Surrey police dept) has been sent. (And more reports will come)This after advice from pilot association lawyer who clearly states that Brookfield is commiting fraud by not paying salary..

Just as a matter of interest, does the Brookfield contract specifically use the word 'salary'.

Some might think it a trivial point but it has legal implications, most contractors are self-employed and responsible for their own taxation etc. and they are paid a monthly 'fee' for their services.

If a Brookfield contracts says the word 'salary' then this legally implicates that the individual is a direct employee of Brookfield and if Brookfield haven't been making deductions for tax etc. at source and paying their employer's 12.8% NI contributions then all parties could find themselves in the SH one T, Brookfield and indeed the individual.

The wording used, if I remember correctly, was compensation or remuneration for work, not salary.

Actually however it is worded it is a con. Under uk tax law if you work via an agency to a single company, as you would have to as a pilot, you are by definition an employee of that agent. I stress that this is for tax purposes only. The agent doesn’t have to give you annual leave, sick leave or any other employee benefits. I am surprised that the IRS haven’t jumped on this one yet. When they do rest assured there will be a serious mess on the fan.

Springbok,
Uk Inland Revenue 'IR35' can be interpreted in many different ways. There is no necessity to work for more than one operator providing that one works for one operator from more than one base. Bearing in mind that a pilot works from a minimum of two bases every time he goes flying, i.e. there and back again, that particular requirement of 'IR35' has been fulfilled.

If the taxman does come looking for unpaid income taxes then there is only one person responsible for paying those taxes, the individual. If the taxman cannot locate the individual then he may go knocking on Brookfield's door and one would assume, to avoid paying unpaid taxes themselves, that they will assist the taxman with his enquiries in locating the individual.

There are atleast 6 posts above mentioning the word 'salary' and apparently non payment of 'salary' has been reported to the police. Careless talk costs lives, as they say, and if the word 'salary' has been used in police report(s) then those said individuals had better hope and pray that the taxman doesn't become involved.

And no, I'd don't work for Brookfield!

It's funny how the mere mention of the T word will kill a thread dead. I for one have had enough of these free loaders. One of them was actually bragging to me how he gave a false address at the doctors because he doesn't pay national insurance. Would you trust a person like that with your families.
