Hello!
I have applied and gotten an interview and I just have a question, does BA employ people from outside the UK from any country of mainland Europe? or are all the pilots generally English or is there even a small portion of those foreigners?
I suppose my chances are slim
Thanks,
E. Mach

Dont worry - if you make the grade, being from across The Channel is not going to prevent you from getting the job.
Whilst the vast majority of pilots are British, we do have some "foreigners". There is a healthy contingent of Dutch, a couple of French, some Irish, a Swiss and probably others. We have some folk from further away, but they all have the right to a UK or Euro passport

This is a bit of a long shot:
Is there anyone in the Sim w/c 12th Jan that would fancy swapping for a week later. I've had the invite, but the dates available are whilst I'm booked on holiday.
A long shot I know, but if anyone feels able to swap PM me. Thanks

sim feedback
Has anyone who's been unsuccessful at the sim stage of selection been able to get any feedback?
On the day the assessor told me that we should ask for feedback if we're not successful. I've tried calling them and one guy said feedback is not available and another said someone would be in touch but I've heard nothing.
Any ideas if it is actually available and if so through which channels?
Thanks

AFAIK no feedback was available for candidates failing Day 1 or 2 in the last round of recruitment in 2008 and that seemed to be BA's general policy re. feedback, but as you say, it might be different now.

Feedback
The records of your interview ought to be available to the interviewee on request under the Data Protection Act and under the Questionaire Procedure in the Discrimination Acts. Other than that you have no automatic entitlement to feedback, although it is good HR practice to give it.
You may wish to ask for the feedback, and if it is refused, use the Data Protection Act to obtain it. Don't expect to be asked for an interview in the future though
The law is an ass.

Thanks for the info. Under no circumstances would I try and get feedback using the law as that would burn all bridges, as you say!
Thanks and good luck to those still to do their sim.

It’s all gone quiet on here, so here is a question:
Has anyone who went to a selection day in the middle of December still not had a yes or no yet?
Obviously there has been the Christmas and New Year holiday but it would be nice to know either way.
Fingers crossed for an email on Tuesday!

Interview Finishing Time
Hi,
Could anyone who has been for a morning interview session tell me what time it actually finished? It says 13:30 but has anyone's ran any later than that?
Cheers

Mine fiinished bang on the advertised time. The last session is a Q&A session with some line pilots - which also includes the people from the afternoon session, and they need to crack on with their afternoon schedule on time, so its unlikely to go over the time.
I wouldn't plan to much in the afternoon though - you'll need to sit down in a quiet room and reboot your brain.
