non-resident taxation
Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone could shed some light on the tax issues surrounding those who may be resident in one country, i.e. house there, wife and kids living there, etc (i'm in Guernsey), and may work for a UK airline and are based in the UK (and will be paying UK tax PAYE), therefore living in the UK for the majority of the time.
Am I entitled to a rebate from the UK (anyone know about proportionate allowance)? Anyone know how this works? - IE so many days out of the country per year, etc?
I am after any information that anyone could give me - particulary through any personal experience one may have of this minefield.
Also, how is flight / sector pay taxed in the UK?
Many thanks,
Swiss.

You are going to have to get to grips with the Inland Revenue's publication IR20 which can be found here:-
http://www.inlandrevenue.gov.uk/pdfs/ir20.pdf
If the link doesn't work, you'll have to type it in.
You'll see that it covers the whole area and specifically deals with aircrew.
Happy reading.
