Easyjet Berlin & Dortmund bases - where are the pilot's from???

Hi there,

As easyjet have opened bases in Berlin and Dortmund, then does this mean UK pilots have to relocate there in order to gain their first command?

I know the UK is pretty much covered but for new guys who are on the TRSS will they move to these bases? Or will easy get a lot of applications from German chaps?

On the subject of foreign pilots/bases, what percentage of easy aircrew are foreign, ie non-UK?

Cheers for now.....

There are plenty of French, Dutch, German and French pilots kicking around EZY to whom Dortmund is doable from their preferred home. Therefore I can't see too many if any people being compelled to go there.

Not that I know the figures but thats the crewroom consensus.

Not the worst part of the world to live in if you did have to do a stint there though.

Cheers

WWW

ps Oh, and Belgian pilots, lots of Belgian pilots.

As WWW says I can see it being very popular with our Dutch and Belgian colleagues.

Being within 1-2 hours of your home makes a big difference to morale. I suspect there'll be no shortage of volunteers for Dortmund.

The German bases are likely to be very popular with................er....Germans.

I believe Berlin SXF is just about fully crewed in advance of the opening, the majority being German nationals.
