Cool Technical knowledge

Interesting leader in the latest Flight International concerning technical training on the latest digital aircraft. When the A320 first came on line, several of those on the initial courses felt the technical training was inadequate. An approach to Airbus was made asking if they would consider an advanced couse on the systems could be arranged for those with about one years experience on type. This was deemed unneccessary by the Company as the A320 was considered to be just another aircraft. Great sales pitch but far from the truth. I have always thought one needed to understand the A320 far better than anything I had flown before. Comments from experienced Airbus crews would be interesting.
