Why do they use JP5 on ships?

Hi,
Can anyone tell me why JP5 is used on aircraft carriers?
Is it because of the higher flash point and increased stability or is it because of the greater power per kg?
Or is it something else?
Thanks,
GA

JP-5 is used because of the higher flash point.
